APPOINTED OFFICES

These officers are appointed by the President and the Board members.


Health and Welfare Chair

The Health and Welfare Chairman shall monitor the health problems of the membership and provide reports
at the general meetings and to the Newsletter editor.


News Letter Editor

The Newsletter Editor shall record the chapter news and put together a news letter [ HAM-O-GRAM] for distribution to the membership each month.
The completed document Microsoft Publisher masters shall be submitted to the Newsletter Publisher for printing, collation and mailing.
Other formats of the HAM-O-GRAM will be provided for e-mailing and/or secure website use.


Webmaster

Webmaster duties:

  • 1. Design, program, and maintain all pages for the https://srhams.org website.
  • 2.     Arrange for Server Host support   
  • 3.     Arrange for annual payment for domain name SRHAMS.org 
  • 4.  Revise and improve the website as required to maintain a useful and interesting website.

Publisher

PUBLISHER

H-O-G USPS DISTRIBUTION

The Publisher shall receive the printer ready newsletter from the Newsletter Editor. He will maintain the USPS mailing address Roster and maintain a Mailing Labels File. He will coordinate the printing, addressing, and mailing of the monthly H-O-G to those members receiving the USPS mailed version. The newsletter publisher shall submit a billing to the Treasurer for reimbursement of publishing costs each month.

H-O-G  E-MAIL DISTRIBUTION

The Publisher will maintain an up to date e-mail list of all members in his computer, and send an e-mail notice to all members when the H-O-G is ready for distribution each month.


VE test coordinator

The VE Test Coordinator shall obtain necessary materials from a VEC and supervise the testing at campouts. He shall assemble a crew of amateurs with proper VE accreditations to conduct testing. He shall insure that all paperwork is completed properly and submit it to the VEC.


New Member Recruiting

NEW MEMBER RECRUITING APPOINTEE

Recruitment of new Chapter members is a team effort. All members of Sam’s Radio Hams have a vested interest in and a shared responsibility for recruiting new members for the Chapter. The responsibility of the Recruitment Chairperson shall be to aid their efforts and facilitate attracting new members having a true interest in Amateur Radio and in RV Camping. In carrying out these responsibilities the Recruitment Chairperson shall:

  • – Continuously impress upon the SRH members through HOG articles and direct conversation the critical importance of person-to-person contacts in acquiring new members
  • – Provide supporting Materials to the members to aid their recruitment efforts
  • – Arrange to visit the area Ham Radio club meetings and give a presentation of the Chapter and what it has to offer

ARRL Representative

ARRL REPRESENTATIVES DUTIES:

  • 1. Monitor the ARRL website and subscribe to the ARRL Weekly Letter to determine the latest information regarding our affiliation with the ARRL (American Radio Relay League).
  • 2. Represent Sam’s Radio Hams at appropriate meetings and Hamfests sponsored by the ARRL .
  • 3.  Prepare digests of important information for publication on the SRH Website and in the Ham-O-Gram newsletter to keep our members up to date with Amateur Radio governmental and technical issues.
  • 4.  Communicate current information to our members during our weekly official nets.
  • 5.  Confer, as necessary, with the SRH Testing appointee to exchange information that affects on our testing program.
  • 6.  Assure that the ARRL Southwestern Division Director and Vice Director receive Ham-O-Grams and other appropriate information as to SRH’s  ham radio efforts.
  • 7.  Update the SRH affiliated club information data on the ARRL website in January each year as the new officers are confirmed.

Membership

Membership Chair

  • 1. Design and maintain current lists of member data
  • 2. Enroll new members
  • 3. Communicate member information to the SRH Board of Officers
  • 4. Prepare annual dues payment forms and communicate these to the members via the SRH Website, Ham-O-Gram, or other methods.
  • 5. Coordinate with the New Member Recruiting appointee on items of mutual interest
  • 6. Prepare mail labels for the distribution of the Ham-O-Gram and deliver them to the Publisher.

Sergeant at Arms

The Sergeant at Arms shall maintain order at the general meetings. The Sergeant-at-Arms shall assure that appropriate ID badges are worn at all formal times. He/She shall provide tickets to the membership for the raffle and conduct the operation of the raffle.


Communications Chair

Communications Chair Duties:

ASSISTANT NET CONTROL

The Communications Chairman shall appoint Assistant Net Directors to act as Net Control for the 40 meter and 75 meter Sam’s Radio Hams nets. Operational methods of the nets shall be at the discretion of the Communications Chairman. He will compose and update as required a Sam�s Radio Hams Sunday Net Operators Instruction and Script document, and distribute it to all Net Control Operators.

NET ROSTER

Maintain a Net Roster with only Names & Call signs. Monitor changes to the membership Roster, and make changes to this Net Roster as required. Periodically E-mail the up-dated Net Roster to all members.

REPORTS

The Communication Chairman shall report at the Chapter meetings the operation of the net and any problems that have occurred and any other communications support by the Chapter.

GOOD SAM CLUB COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT

All Chapter communications support to other Good Sam Activities such as Samborees and the Annual Whitney Classic shall be coordinated by the Communications Chairman.

TALK IN FREQUENCY

The Communications Chairman shall designate the campout talk in frequency to be used.

SRH is affiliated with the ARRL. Our Amateur Radio Club Call Sign is K6SRH.
